Therapicasso continued spreading their influence through Park Elementary School on February 25, 2025. This event is not like any other that Therapicasso has had as PTA members were present in order to have an understanding of the purpose of Therapicasso as well as their influence in shaping the minds of their younger peers in a healthy manner. This event is smaller than any other event that Therapicasso has had with 30 people present.

This event had two activities in order to get a sense of mixing both art and expressing emotions. These two events were working in rotation so everyone had a chance to work on both activities in the span of two hours. The two events were the gratitude jars and postcard activity. Through these events with the already set communities this allows the people present to understand Therapicasso’s mission of expressing mental health in a positive manner and will hopefully have Park Elementary work with Therapicasso more in the near future.

Gratitude Jars was one of the two activities during this event. For this activity it’s where each person is given a jar and the person would get strips of paper and write down what it is that they are grateful for and add it into the jar. The purpose of this activity is to have people open these jars up during times of stress and uncertainty to remind them of the many reasons why they keep pushing forward every single day. Especially during these times when there is a lot of uncertainty.

As families are getting separated, and friends taken away by ICE, our community continues to stress and worry about what is to come of our futures. This fills all of us with uncertainty and at times like this, gratitude jars help us and stay grounded instead of panicking to remind us the reasons why we continue to fight injustice every single day.

The second activity at this event happens to be the Postcard activity. Through this activity people would write a postcard to thóse they love or to someone they’ve felt an extremely intense emotion for and wanted to express it. On one side the person would draw a picture of anything they want, and leave the note on the other side of the postcard. This is ân extremely powerful activity as it lets people show their rawest and most hónest feelings through paper and art.
