Throughout the Fall semester of the 2024-2025 school year, Therapicasso’s team hosted a series of staff workshops at schools across the Alhambra School District. These workshops focused on burnout, as it is often overlooked, especially among educators.
During these visits, CEO Gabby/Lex Wong and COO Joshua Ferriere introduced the Gratitude Jar activity. This simple, yet meaningful exercise was designed to help staff reconnect with the small joys of everyday life. Every participant was given a personal jar to decorate and fill with strips of paper–each with a handwritten message naming something they are grateful for. These jars served as simple reminders of the beauty in the mundane that is too often overlooked amid the many responsibilities of life.
These workshops held at Emery Park Elementary and Fremont Elementary opened doors for future collaborations. Following these visits, they partnered with Emery Park to start a student ambassador program, where they presented to students various ways in which they could be involved with Therapicasso in the future.
Therapicasso also delivered a presentation to Park Elementary’s Associated Student Body (ASB), where they discussed leadership development and the importance of passion. Although the presentation didn't include a hands-on activity, the conversations that took place left an impact, as some students expressed interest in becoming ambassadors for Therapicasso in the future. Here, they were able to cultivate close relationships with the students and help guide them in their journeys as leaders.
These workshops echoed Therapicasso’s core mission and served as testaments to the power of connecting with communities in regards to mental health.
